DESCRIPTION

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning and maintaining daily supply chain operations across functional areas such as materials, production, inventory, logistics, customer service, demand management, or order fulfillment. The role ensures internal and external customer requirements are met while driving efficiency, mitigating risks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop planning system strategies to improve planning signals across the supply chain.

  • Monitor and adjust parameters in the planning system to optimize outcomes.

  • Use common processes, tools, and information systems for efficient supply chain management.

  • Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify gaps, drive improvements, and prepare action plans.

  • Execute daily operational planning processes within the assigned functional area.

  • Identify potential supply chain risks or failures during the planning process and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and execute short-term tactical improvements.

  • Drive consistency in planning signals across the supply chain through effective system usage.

  • Participate in and contribute to functional process improvement teams.

  • Apply specific competencies such as:

  • Materials Planning System Utilization – Manage supply and demand plans, applying corrective actions where needed.

  • Part Change Control Management – Implement engineering change requests while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Plan for Every Part (PFEP) – Ensure timely and accurate part delivery through end-to-end planning and system design.

  • Master Supply Scheduling – Establish valid master production schedules to meet customer requirements and operational efficiency.

  • Material Planning – Use advanced planning and analytics tools for decisions on availability, optimization, and root cause analysis.

  • Materials KPI Management – Track and interpret performance to ensure alignment with organizational targets and customer needs.

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in managing external suppliers, material planning, and part change control processes.

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Strong data analytics capabilities; knowledge of Power BI (PBI), SQL, or other analytics tools preferred.

  • Familiarity with planning systems such as Kinaxis RapidResponse or Maestro is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimal to intermediate professional experience in supply chain, materials planning, or related roles.

  • Hands-on experience with supply planning, supplier management, and analytical reporting preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Commerce, or related field is required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
