Job Summary

Performs routine functions related to a site's environmental requirements, Environment objectives and targets, and the overall Health, Environmental and Energy Management System (EEnMS).

Routine functions may include the gathering and analysis of environmental data, supporting sites with energy, water, and waste efficiency projects, scorecards and documentation to be produced to meet the Organisations’ legal obligations, develop and/ or improve tools to manage environment matters at the site(s), carrying out visual site inspections and audits, and other related duties, as directed by the Organisations’ HSE Manager.

Applies project management skills and provides administrative and logistics support for an Environment/ Facilities project team and project manager.

Location: Daventry, UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports development, implementation and maintenance of the organisations’ EEnMS (ISO 14001, ISO 50001). Supports regulatory compliance efforts and other programs applicable at the site including waste, water and energy management.

  • Supports the identification, development, implementation and sustainability of energy, water and waste projects aimed at achieving the company’s 2020 sustainability targets.

  • Supports the organisation with employee training, recordkeeping/reporting, environmental communications, document control, measuring, monitoring, and interpreting environmental parameters, inspections and audits, management reviews, environmental meetings, and other associated environment and energy programmes at the site.

  • Assists the Environment/ facilities teams with the closure of corrective actions raised as a result of internal/ external audits/ inspections findings.

  • Serves as a resource on Environment projects and work assignments; employs basic knowledge of effective project management and general business understanding.

  • Supports the business preparing the environment projects finance models and prepares the project’s application for funding. Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve environment project issues.

  • Monitors and communicates environment project status to project and HSE teams.

Qualifications

Skills

Fundamentals of Environment Management - Good knowledge of Environment Management. Includes knowledge of basic environment concepts such as environment aspects and impacts, energy, waste, and water management, and key environment legislation.

Risk Management - This skill includes an understanding of the function and application of hazard analysis tools and techniques in the correct system and engineering environment. This may include the application of hazard analysis tools.

Environment Management System – This skill includes the basic understanding of an Environment and Energy management system (ISO 14001/ ISO 50001) for managing environment responsibilities and achieving improvements in environment performance and compliance with legislation.

Incident Investigation - The method of reporting the occurrence of an environment incident. Incident investigations determine how and why these failures occur. Employees should be able to understand and apply incident investigation tools to identify root cause.

Communication - Written And Verbal - Effectively expresses messages and ideas in a clear, organized and relevant manner for a variety of audiences. Develops organized, complete, and convincing communications. Conveys thoughts and ideas regarding a topic concisely and clearly. Education/ Certifications

On-going college, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or health, safety and environmental sciences, or a related technical or scientific field required.
