RMEP - Electrical Controls Technician- 3rd
We are looking for a talented B Block Technician to join our Rocky Mount Engine Plant.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Troubleshoots, assembles, installs, tests and maintains electrical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable.
Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.
May work independently and instruct or coach others.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Four years of applicable experience as a qualified controls support person in troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, relay, PLC, and CNC controls for machine repair or machine building and maintenance.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in solving problems with electrical, electronic systems, and PLC ladder logic.
Proven experience in the use of electronic test equipment, oscilloscopes, megohmeters, multimeters, signal generators, logic probes, etc.
Have a thorough understanding of ladder diagrams/logic and competent in the programming and trouble-shooting of Modicon and Allen Bradley programmable controllers.
Experienced in running conduit, wire sizing, and installation.
Have a thorough knowledge of 480V, 3-phase power systems and equipment.
Have a basic understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read, create and utilize prints and drawings of electrical, electronic, and programming systems.
Experience using precision instruments in either metric or English measurement systems.
Experience in maintaining SCR drives.
Good understanding of CNC equipment.
Experienced in either automated transfer line or assembly equipment.
Must have ability to read pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical diagrams.
Must have basic understanding of PC's and basic PC skills.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must be a proven self-starter, with a willingness to work in a team environment.
Must have a working understanding of PC based Systems (Microsoft).
Employees in this position must be able to lift one to forty-five pounds frequently and seventy-five pounds or more infrequently with assistance.
Employees must be able to wear hearing protection, interpret information by using visual acuity, hearing and speaking, gross and fine motor skills; work eight hours or more frequently and work rotating shifts.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
