We are looking for a talented Production Support Associate to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Applies Cummins Operating System (COS) practices and Operations Excellence (OE) methodology throughout the plant.

  • Participates actively in the identification of ways in which to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

  • Recognize how your work may impact the environment and work to minimize the negative impact.

  • Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet manufacturing goals.

  • Performs non production activities which support the manufacturing processes in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment with limited guidance

  • Performs quality inspections.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Tooling Technicians are responsible for the on-line troubleshooting of tooling issues and is the first line contact for the Line Operators prior to involving the Manager or Engineers. Tooling Technicians must use math, communication and interpersonal skills to support the Engineering and Mechanical staff in all projects. This role is focused on reducing downtime, improving tooling performance, and being a team player.

Specific duties for the Tooling Technician includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Responsible for tool development, testing, design, and tool maintenance.

  2. Respond to line calls.

  3. Assist Operations with tool changes.

  4. Remove broken tools.

  5. Getting quotes for both old and new tools.

  6. Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities.

  7. Communicate with tooling vendors, Tool Setters, and Cutter Grind Technicians on a regular basis.

  8. Use layout, precision measurement, and inspection equipment.

  9. Train others around tooling issues and/or concerns.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
