Placement - Supply Chain

PLEASE NOTE – This position is starting in Rugby but we are relocating the team to our Daventry Site in April 2020.


Working as part of the GPL team and reporting to the Logistics Supervisor the successful candidate’s responsibilities will cover (but are not limited to):

  • Development of Supply Chain Analytics to make operational performance and trends visible

  • Lead and participate in Six Sigma and Supply Chain Improvement projects e.g. rationalisation of International Supply Chains, Creation of carbon measurement and offsetting tools and processes

  • Involvement and support in all Major Cross Business Unit projects

  • Ensuring data integrity of all analytics and reports

  • Development of reporting capabilities for supply chain KPIs

  • Analysis and interpretation of KPIs to identify areas for improvement and action plans

  • The use of existing business systems to provide analytics and reporting that are capable and repeatable

  • Financial reporting and tracking of spend and project savings

  • Development of supply chain models for scenario analysis

  • Design and implementation of reporting suites that will be presented across the EMEA region

  • Measurement of carrier performance through the use of KPIs and assessment scorecards

  • Design, Creation and Maintenance of Supply Chain Tools to be used by the team and internal customers


  • Tools and skills training specific to the role

  • Six Sigma Training

  • Presentation and communication skills

  • Leading effective meetings

  • Assertiveness training

  • Engine appreciation course

  • Practices and procedures



  • Working towards a degree in Supply Chain/Business/Statistics related area

  • Excellent IT Skills, in particular Excel and PowerPoint (Access and Visio beneficial)

  • Previous experience in a supply chain role would be beneficial but is not required

  • Ability to understand data, solve problems and think innovatively

  • Works well as part of a team

  • Ability to manage workload effectively
