Our Component business unit is a global provider of filtration products, emission solutions, fuel systems, and electronics and software products across Cummins. As a key role in the Cummins Electronics-Fuel System group, this manager will lead a technical team developing electronics modules for our Power Systems and Electrification business units. This is an exciting opportunity in Shoreview, MN for an Electronics Engineering Manager. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading engineering & research Technology projects such as New Product Development, Value Package Introduction and Systems Product Validation.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Leads a medium size technical group and works under broad direction.

  • Provide technical guidance on a portfolio of global electronics programs.

  • Establishes employee performance standards; works collaboratively to set goals and to address areas of deficiency.

  • Influences business-area leadership decisions.

  • Manages financial controls and risk, ensuring operations are executed within established budget.

  • Identifies issues, problems, and opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Formulates employee and department development plans for transferring technical knowledge.

  • Coaches and motivates employees; provides guidance and direction on resolving problems and issues.

  • Delegates and assigns work, considering employee skills and development needs.

  • Advises leaders regarding the identification and resolution of complex problems.

  • Works with employees to establish their individual development and career plans.Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Master's degree or equivalent advanced degree in Engineering required


Significant level of relevant work experience required. Ten or more years’ experience in a similar discipline expected.

  • Contributes critical thinking to develop product architecture solutions for new products.

  • Highly effective candidates will possess product knowledge in one or more of these technical areas: switched-mode power electronics, vehicle electrification, high-speed digital communications, and power generation application controllers.

  • Leads periodic project reviews between internal stakeholder technical leaders and Cummins Electronics.

  • Serves as a critical customer contact within Cummins Electronics.

  • Leads and develops new project cost quotes based on critical customer needs.

  • Leads technical teams from initial requirements, through architecture review, and successful project launch.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
