Description

We are looking for a dynamic, talented Market Insights Director to join our team specializing in Strategy & Market Intelligence for our Corporate Strategy Group in Minneapolis, MN (location is flexible). The role is designated hybrid allowing you to work from your home office or corporate office location with limited travel (less than 10% overall travel).

In this role, the Market Insights Director makes an impact in the following ways:

  • Leads and executes market intelligence capability for the Power Generation business

  • Develops capable resources, as well as processes, to deliver market intelligence requirements that inform business decision making

  • Establishes strong networks and relationships across the business, functions, and regions to ensure alignment and create efficiencies

  • Conceptualizes and deploys intelligence methods, tools, and techniques to ensure delivery of quality market data, insights, and recommendations that guide business decisions

  • Aligns with business leaders to prioritize key market intelligence efforts and cascade them through the team

  • Serves as an advisor and thought partner in the decision-making process

  • Leads strategic market assessments and provides market input to further the understanding of specific aspects of the market to inform business strategies and/or decision making

  • Highly proficient in developing knowledge networks throughout the business, distribution channel, and external sources

  • Develops a high-performance team by leading, motivating, mentoring, and developing employees, and champions a culture of intelligence gathering, insights generation and value-added support

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Balances stakeholders: anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders

Data Analytics: discovers, interprets and communicates qualitative and quantitative data; determines conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks; simultaneously applies statistics, data validity, data visualization, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights; presents conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions

Thought Leadership: demonstrates independence and insightfulness through objectively approaching problems with creativity and appropriate development and use of frameworks

Team Engagement: engages with project team members formally in team meetings and informally in a manner that helps draw out the best from all team members while respecting the diversity of the team

Market Insights Creation: drives project output through an insight-driven approach that is founded on efficient and prioritized usage of the resources, and high-quality, credible research and analysis

Intuitive Listening and Adapting Solutions: translates needs, expectations, or asks from customers, stakeholders, etc. into actionable solutions through active listening and intuition; chooses or produces solutions (e.g., process change, tool, product, service, etc.) to meet or exceed the customers’ or stakeholders’ needs or expectations or to provide value

Market Analysis: research information using meaningful and valid sources and data to expand your knowledge of markets; analyzes findings by connecting dots and identifying trends to create a coherent image of the market; summarizes relevant insights by condensing, prioritizing, and translating how these impact our business

Market Forecasting: analyzes and interprets market data from a variety of internal and external sources and modeling to formulate unbiased market projections specific to business segment

Market Positioning: compiles market overview and trends to build frameworks which provide market insights to the decision-making process

Storytelling: develops and delivers a compelling narrative which resonates with a target audience and influences a decision or course of action

New Power Market: deep knowledge of traditional or alternative power solutions, technology, and trends

Education/Experience

  • Ideal candidate has an exceptionally strong knowledge of the power generation and energy markets, required

  • Extensive experience with M&As, Strategy, or Business Model Innovation, required

  • Strong business acumen and strategic problem-solving skills, required

  • Functional expertise in market insights, required

  • Collaborative mindset, team-oriented, required

  • Significant understanding of energy markets and multi-channel sales approach, required

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Economics, or Engineering, required

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
