CDL Driver


Cummins Sales and Service is looking for an experienced, team-oriented CDL Driver to support service operations at the Sumner, WA branch. Basic mechanical understanding would be beneficial but not required.

The job requires the driver to test drive the various types of vehicles that we repair from the customers' sites to and from the branch and in addition perform quality control inspections.

Job Description:

  • Support Cummins Sales and Service Philosophy, Values and Policies.

  • Pickup and deliver customer trucks, buses and RV’s using a towable vehicle for two-way transport.

  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.

  • Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.

  • Read and interpret maps in order to determine vehicle routes.

  • Demonstrate safe and defensive driving behavior at all times.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.



  • Training and experience driving commercial vehicles on local city roads.

  • Excellent driving record for both personal and work-related driving.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with external and internal customers.

  • Be a self-motivated, team player with the desire to work and communicate well with customers and co-workers.

  • Demonstrate the ability to initiate, expedite and follow through to task completion.

  • Demonstrate ability to positively react to change in environment, processes and people.

  • Demonstrate ability to engage customers in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and take care of customer’s needs while following company procedures and projecting confidence in the Cummins product.

  • Understand and model Cummins values.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, cleaning, straightening shelves and keeping workshop clean.

  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the workshop.

  • Perform daily HSE and equipment inspections and maintenance.

  • Fill out the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report.

  • Load and unload parts, engines and generators.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have and maintain a good driving record and CDL license.

  • Forklift certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Base hourly rate commensurate with experience.
