Cummins Sales and Service is currently seeking a C ommercial Outside Sales Representative to become part of the dynamic Power Generation Sales Team in Surrey, BC.

Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial Power Generation Sales , you will focus on developing relationships and educating Consulting Engineers, working with Electrical Contractors to ensure projects are properly executed, growing our market share, and supporting existing Commercial Standby customer accounts in the BC market.

Please Note: This position will be provided a working desk in Surrey, but it is expected that at least 50% of the their time will be spent outside the office on sales calls in the assigned region, with 25% travel outside of the greater Vancouver area required.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit Consulting Engineers, Electrical Contractors and End User to educate, troubleshoot and form relationships – grow presence in market and grow sales to meet AOP goals.

  • Assist inside sales team by presenting all relevant material required for an accurate quote.

  • Work with projects team to ensure all materials that are required for a clean project are updated and submitted.

  • Use Seibel to log all customer visits and critical events; maintain accounts.

  • Complete monthly mileage and expense reports.

  • Follow work plans and abide by Cummins’ sales requirements.

  • Drives utilization of Cummins tools and processes (i.e. Customer Relationship Management, Customer focus Six Sigma).

  • Provides leadership and mentoring to less experienced sales representatives.

This position will work a Monday – Friday schedule. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur are made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the standing Collective Agreement.

Qualifications

  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada without sponsorship.

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field. An engineering back ground through technical or supply chain distribution would be an asset.

  • Proven understanding & working knowledge of Power Generation Commercial sales.

  • Good communication skills to communicate, educate and coach the Cummins value package both internally and externally.

  • Must have time management skills and be self-motivated.

  • Ability to work in a team structure.

  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Disciplined in keeping and updating sales records.

  • Strong work ethic and a positive mental attitude.

  • Able to problem solve effectively.
