We are looking for a talented Health, Safety & Environment Compliance Manager to join our team specializing in Health and Safety for our York, SC location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • **Expertise in HSE compliance: ** Support site-level health, safety, environment, and sustainability compliance with local legal obligations, including policy development, training, and guidance.

  • **Incident response and investigation: ** Assist regional sites in investigating reportable spills or violations, ensuring alignment with legal recommendations and sharing lessons learned across teams.

  • **Regulatory knowledge: ** Serve as a subject matter expert on local and regional HSE laws and regulations, providing authoritative guidance.

  • **External representation: ** Represent Cummins in interactions with regulatory agencies regarding HSE compliance matters.

  • **Global collaboration: ** Work closely with global HSE teams to contribute to compliance initiatives and share regional insights.

  • **Strategic planning: ** Develop regional tactical objectives aligned with global strategy, informed by legislation, audits, violations, and data analysis.

  • **Stakeholder coaching: ** Train and support stakeholders in using Cummins-approved systems for managing corrective and preventive actions.

  • **Data analysis and communication: ** Analyze regional HSE compliance data and regulatory communications, ensuring timely action and alignment with corporate policies.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Science, Law, or other aligned science or engineering discipline, Master’s Degree Preferred.

Experience:

5-7 years’ experience in support and management of HSE compliance. 1-3 years’ experience working across multiple sites preferred. Direct experience with regulatory agency negotiations. Knowledge and experience with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 Management Systems, and the 50001 Energy Management System Standards and how to leverage conformance in support of regulatory compliance

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant ICare Program

  • Support the development and implementation of plant ergonomic initiatives.

  • Develop and initiate plant safety culture improvements.

  • Provide guidance and support to plant engineering projects.

  • Leading the site’s Health Safety & Environmental Management System

  • Collaborating with the site’s leadership team to develop the site’s HSE continuous improvement plan

  • Its an On-Site position.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
